The company has prepared the introduction of the new hybrid models with a multi-million-euro investment.
Magyar Suzuki started the serial production of hybrid vehicles in its Esztergom factory in December last year, moreover, they plan to produce exclusively hybrid passenger cars for the European Union market this year. The crowd-favorite, domestically produced Vitara and SX4 S-CROSS models – will become available at the end of January within the whole sales network of Suzuki in Hungary and in the countries of the European Union as well.
The market leader car manufacturer led the market in 2019 confidently again
With 25 766 cars registered, Suzuki increased its market share on the domestic passenger car market to 16,32 percent in 2019. The brand – first and foremost thanks to its Vitara and SX4-S CROSS models – has been leading the new-car sales in Hungary for four years. The two crowd favourites basically led the domestic sales statistics side by side.
At the beginning of December, numerous members of the senior managers of Suzuki Motor Corporation and several managers of Magyar Suzuki Corporation participated in the jubilee event series organised in Tokyo to honour the 150th anniversary of Japanese-Hungarian diplomatic relations.
Japanese host university visits Suzuki plant for the first time
Japan-based Suzuki Foundation presided by Suzuki Motor Corporation Chairman-CEO Osamu Suzuki has been providing research scholarships to young researchers of the Budapest University of Technology (BME) since 2006. The programme supports in-depth academic endeavours and research projects and promotes international knowledge sharing in science including electronics, electricity, mechanical engineering and technical IT. Due to the good relationship between BME and Shizuoka University of Japan, representatives of the host university visited the Suzuki plant in Esztergom for the first time.

As a result of a multi-stage production development project launched three years ago the Suzuki plant in Esztergom has increased safety of manufactured cars that meet today's most advanced technological, market and environmental requirements. 150 years of diplomatic relationship between Japan and Hungary

Magyar Suzuki Corporation has reached an important milestone as the half-millionth Vitara rolled off its production line in Esztergom. The model – produced in Esztergom since spring 2015 and facelifted in September 2018 – has been Magyar Suzuki’s greatest success so far and Hungarian customers’ No.1 favorite, dominating the Hungarian new car market for years.
With 19,292 passenger cars registered in 2018, far exceeding 2017 results, Suzuki sets a new record once again in Hungary. Exceeding previous year’s results by the sales of 15,161 units, Magyar Suzuki Corporation kept its market leader position and increased market share to 13,04% at the Hungarian passenger car market in 2017. The company sold altogether 178,624 units of its own produced vehicles Vitara and SCROSS, and sales covered 13,211 cars (wholesales) for domestic and 165,413 cars for the export markets. Vitara, the Esztergom made flag-ship model with 9,417 units sold at the domestic market has been the engine of the success, while the company achieved a 212% rise in the sales of imported models with 3107 units sold. Magyar Suzuki Corporation’s total net sales revenue reached EUR 2101.2 million by the end of fiscal year 2017.

Magyar Suzuki Corporation delivers custom-made mini cars to support the road safety education of children from 6 to 12 years of age. The mini Vitara models, specifically manufactured for this purpose, will be first available to elementary students in the Children’s Car Traffic Park of Esztergom, opening on the 30th of March. As the head of a consortium, Magyar Suzuki Corporation has launched a new multiannual research & development program sponsored by the European Regional Development Fund. The GINOP-2.2.1-15-2016-00015 project aims to develop the R&D&I cooperation between universities, research facilities and the company’s suppliers to cultivate new scientific results, market-ready products, services and technologies with higher added value, and to build their first prototypes. Magyar Suzuki sold 2,247 cars in Q1 2016 and leads the Hungarian new car market with a 11.41 % share. The engine of the performance is the new Vitara, of which 1,660 were sold in the January-March period. With a 27.63 % share, the Vitara is the absolute winner of the SUV segment.
Suzuki Motor Corporation’s compact car Swift, which was launched as a world strategic model in November 2004, has reached cumulative worldwide sales of five million units in early April 2016 (eleven years and five months since the start of sales in 2004).
An exhibition on new and veteran road vehicles, air and watercrafts will be held in Esztergom at the weekend with the title of “Then and Now”. Visitors can see several special vehicles along Kis-Duna-Sétány, such as ancient, horse-drawn vehicles, veteran motorcycles, Ernő Rubik’s aeroplane which still works today, an Indonesian boat carved of wood, Mátyás Rákosi’s luxury boat and Formula 1 power boats.
A three-year factory modernization program has been successfully concluded at Magyar Suzuki Corporation. Modernization was becoming timely for the plant, which has been in operation for 25 years, so that the Esztergom facility could fulfill the requirements of an increasingly diversified production and export to 128 countries without compromise, said the newly appointed Managing Director of Magyar Suzuki Corporation, Mr Yoshinobu Abe, at his first press conference in Hungary.
Merkantil Bank Zrt and Magyar Suzuki Corporation have signed a 7-year agreement to provide car purchase financing for customers. Under the agreement, Merkantil Bank will provide financing plans on highly advantageous conditions for customers buying Suzuki vehicles in a program, brand-named “Suzuki Finanszírozás” (Suzuki Financing).
Yoshinobu Abe has been appointed to the position of Managing Director at Magyar Suzuki Corporation (MSC). The former MD, Naoyuki Takeuchi, has been promoted within the parent company, Suzuki Motor Corporation.
In a ceremony today, Executive General Manager of Magyar Suzuki Corporation Róbert Krisztián, also a member of MSC’s board of directors and CEO of Rail Cargo Hungaria Ltd. and chairman of its board of directors Imre Kovács sent off the 4,000th block train carrying Suzuki cars manufactured in Esztergom for exports. Launched on the 25th anniversary of the departure of the first Suzuki train, the 20 special wagons now carry 200 Suzuki vehicles to Zeebrugge, Belgium, and from there, the cars will continue their journey to several countries across the globe.
Suzuki held a Road and Traffic Safety Day on the main square of the city co-organized by the National Police, the Fire Department of Esztergom and other organizations, on Friday. Following the improper conduct in the course of fuel efficiency and exhaust emission tests, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) was to conduct verification such as measuring performance of some of the models.
Suzuki Motor Corporation’s subsidiary Maruti Suzuki India has entered into Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment for the first time in its history. Today, Maruti Suzuki announced production and launch of its first-ever LCV, SUPER CARRY compact truck. Initially, sales of the vehicle will be limited in three cities (Ludhiana, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata). Sales area will be expanded gradually.
From now on, a brand-new Suzuki Vitara will support the work of the Fire Department of Esztergom. Firefighters will use the car as a fire service vehicle to reach scenes of particular damage. Today, executive general manager of Magyar Suzuki Corporation Róbert Krisztián handed over the car keys to fire-fighter colonel László Németi, head of the Disaster Management Directorate of Komárom-Esztergom County.
From now on, Sándor Service, operating since 35 years in Kisújszállás in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County, will be a Suzuki dealership and service as well. During the opening weekend of Suzuki Sándor, anyone could try the brand’s complete Hungarian line-up including the Baleno, the newest promising model of Suzuki.
Magyar Suzuki Corporation achieved EUR 1,976 million in sales revenues in 2015, up 28% from the year before, the company told journalists at a press conference celebrating the 25th anniversary of its foundation. Sales of own-production cars rose from 150,578 in 2014 to 181,115 in 2015. Suzuki expects further sales growth.
Magyar Suzuki Corp. began the second quarter by introducing its own casco insurance. Suzuki Casco was created exclusively for Suzuki car owners. The insurance product, providing uniquely favourable conditions, can only be bought at authorised Suzuki dealerships. The insurance partner of Suzuki Casco is Allianz Hungária Kft.
Further to the instruction from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) regarding investigation of the actual emissions and fuel efficiency tests, Suzuki reported the result of investigation to the ministry today.
At the 85th Geneva Motor Show, Suzuki Motor Corporation unveils two world-premiere concept models, the iK-2 and the iM-4. New environmental technologies from Suzuki featured in the two models will also be introduced, these are a new-generation platform; the BOOSTERJET, a new downsized direct-injection turbo petrol engine; and the SHVS mild hybrid system.
The Ferenc Puskás Football Academy and Magyar Suzuki Corporation will hold the 8th Puskás-Suzuki Cup U17 football tournament in Felcsút from 2nd to 6th April. More than 100 volunteers participated last Saturday in the trash collection campaign organized jointly by the runners’ organization Esztergomi Futóművek, the Esztergom City Council and Magyar Suzuki Corporation to clean one of the local people’s favorite recreation facility, the “bike path”.

With EUR 19.1 million earnings before taxes and EUR 1457.7 million total sales income, Magyar Suzuki Corporation’s (MSC) Annual General Shareholders Meeting approved the company’s 2014 financial report. Although the number of units produced fell, thanks to changes in the model portfolio the sales turnover practically remained unchanged. Domestic sales grew by 16 %.
Suzuki Motor Corporation has held an opening ceremony of the new automobile assembly plant (Cikarang Plant) on 29 May, 2015, which was completed within the Greenland International Industrial Center (GIIC) located in Bekasi Regency, east of Jakarta, by PT. Suzuki Indomobil Motor (SIM), Suzuki’s subsidiary in Indonesia.

Suzuki Motor Corporation has developed a lightweight and compact 2-cylinder 0.8L E08A diesel engine for compact cars. This engine will be installed on the Celerio, a compact car produced and distributed in India, for launch in India.
Related to the city in innumerable ways, Magyar Suzuki Corporation (MSC) was one of the sponsors of the Health Day held in Esztergom today. “Esztergom is home to many of our employees, and we take every opportunity to do something for the city,” said Viktória Ruska, MSC’s Head of Communication. “The Health Day is an event that contributes to enabling the city’s inhabitants to preserve their health,” she added.

Suzuki vehicle sales in Hungary shot up to an outstanding figure for July 2015 due to the success of Vitara sales as well as a winter tire campaign for the S-CROSS. Registration figures for Suzuki resulted in 472 private sales and 268 unit fleet sales totalling 740 units sold in July, while the total number of units sold in the Jan-July period reached 3,609, out of which, 1,988 units were private sales and 1,621 were fleet registration. Suzuki’s market share was 10.55 % in July.
Suzuki Motor Corporation’s subsidiary, Suzuki (Myamar) Motor Co., Ltd. (SMMC), has today announced start of production of three-row seven-seater MPV Ertiga. It will be on sale from the end of July at Suzuki dealers in Myanmar.
Launched in March this year, Magyar Suzuki Corporation’s new model, the Vitara has been awarded the prestigious Hungarian Quality Product Award®, and has also won the Excellence in Innovation Award in the same contest. The 18th Hungarian Quality Product Award ceremony was held in the Parliament in Budapest, where Magyar Suzuki was represented by CEO Naoyuki Takeuchi and deputy CEO Dr. László Urbán.

Since the new Vitara’s launch in March, Suzuki vehicle sales in Hungary have shown a trend of increase due to the model’s success. Registration figures for Suzuki rose to 928 units, while total number of units sold in the Jan-Sept period reached 5,049. Suzuki’s market share grew to 14.8 % in September.

Magyar Suzuki Corporation organized a conference on kindergarten education in Esztergom on 9th October. The topics discussed in the roundtable session after the presentations included a special anti-aggression method, whose purpose is to teach children how to protect themselves from aggression and abuse already at this early age. The morning session also provided an opportunity to share theoretical knowledge and practice in a visit by children from Budapest to Esztergom’s Angyalkert Kindergarten.

Suzuki sales continued to grow in October. A total of 1,033 new Suzukis were registered in October, and as many as 6,082 in January–October. Suzuki had 12.61 % of the Hungarian passenger car market in the tenth month of the year.

Magyar Suzuki Corporation has offered another car in support of the training of car industry secondary vocational school students. The partnership of Magyar Suzuki Corporation and Vác-based Endre Király Industrial Secondary Vocational School and Boarding School looks back on a history of more than 15 years now. Donated by Magyar Suzuki, the training cars help the theoretical and practical training of car technicians, car mechanics and body ironers.
With Magyar Suzuki Corporation’s sponsorship, the Puskás Academy will hold the 7th PUSKÁS–SUZUKI-CUP U17 football tournament in Felcsút. Magyar Suzuki has sponsored the annual competition since its first edition in 2008.
The final of this year’s Puskás–Suzuki Cup, founded by Magyar Suzuki Corp. and the Ferenc Puskás Football Academy in 2008, was the first official match held at the freshly completed Pancho Arena in Felcsút.
Present Chief Executive Officer leaves Magyar Suzuki Corporation (MSC) handing over the leading position to Mr. Ryoichi Oura. Hisashi Takeuchi has been promoted to a new position in the Product Planning Department at the parent company, Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC). The changes have been announced by Suzuki Motor Corporation; Mr. Ryoichi Oura will officially take over the CEO position after the Shareholders’ Meeting of MSC, at the end of May.

After three new brand dealerships launched in Hungary last year, Suzuki has now opened a new dealership—this time in Esztergom. Suzuki Motor Corporation has achieved accumulated global production of three million units for the outboard motors it produces. Suzuki reached this milestone in 49 years after it started producing outboard motors in 1965. To commemorate this achievement, Suzuki has held a ceremony today at its Toyokawa Plant in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The ceremony was attended by Executive Vice President Toshihiro Suzuki, along with the employees.
The SX4 S-CROSS has been awarded with the prestigious ‘Hungarian Quality Product’ certificate, and also received the Business Press Award donated by the Association of Hungarian Journalists (MÚOSZ). After the Splash and the 3rd generation Swift, it is the third Magyar Suzuki-produced model to have merited the prestigious award. The certificate is awarded in recognition of such driving forces of competitiveness as know-how, innovation and quality. The 17th Hungarian Quality Product Award® ceremony (2014) was held in the Parliament in Budapest.

Global sales of Suzuki automobiles from January to August 2014 were up 106% year-on-year to 1.89 million units. Here in Europe, sales from January to August were up 105% year-on-year to 133 thousand units. Sales volume also increased in most countries across Asia.
Health care services provided by Esztergom’s Vaszary Kolos Hospital will, from now on, be helped by a Suzuki automobile. The key of the brand new, 1.6-liter, petrol-fuelled SX4 S-CROSS was presented by Magyar Suzuki Corporation’s deputy CEO Dr. László Urbán, to president-head surgeon of the Hospital, Dr. Gábor Kanász.
Esztergom residents and people just driving by can have their cars checked free of charge at three locations to see whether they meet requirements for driving in winter. Police’s road traffic experts will also call drivers’ attention to problems that would carry a fine in roadside checks. Launched jointly by Suzuki and the Komárom-Esztergom County Police, the campaign aims to improve road traffic safety in the region.
