Based on sales of the first 11 months of the year, with its 11.33 percent market share and 13 064 new passenger cars registered, Magyar Suzuki Corporation is still the definite leader of new car sales in Hungary one month before the end of 2020. Mainly due to the popularity of the Vitara and the SX4 S-CROSS models that are also available in hybrid versions now, the brand has been on the top of Hungary’s new car sales list for four years now.

Team SUZUKI ECSTAR’s Joan Mir aboard the GSX-RR finished 7th in the MotoGP class of the FIM* Road Racing Grand Prix (MotoGP) 14th round held on 15 November 2020 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Spain. Suzuki has introduced a new 2-seater light-commercial vehicle version of its small and lightweight off-roader, the Jimny. Since its launch in 2018, the model has attracted both private-users and professionals who seek for an authentic off-road performance.

3.5 million Suzuki models were made in about 30 years to 123 countries at the Esztergom plant of the Japanese subsidiary. The 3.5 millionth car was a hybrid version from the audience-favourite Vitara model. The company announced its 2019 business results. - In 2019 Magyar Suzuki sold 194.447 vehicles in 123 countries, with this, the company increased its sales by 13,13 percent compared to the year before. Altogether 185 002 Esztergom made passenger cars – 133 515 Vitara models and 51 487 SX4 S-CROSS models – found an owner in 2019. Last year, the company led the domestic car market with a confident 16,32% share, by this dominating domestic new car sales for the fourth year in a row. Magyar Suzuki Corporation closed 2019 with a 2409,6 million EUR net revenue.
The support of local social, healthcare, educational and cultural organizations and institutions is of crucial importance to Magyar Suzuki Corporation. This time the company contributes to the work of the Komárom-Esztergom county organization of the Hungarian Red Cross, by offering a brand-new hybrid Suzuki Vitara passenger car to the organization.
According to the management of Magyar Suzuki Corporation, employee performance must be valued even in difficult situations. Hence, despite the present epidemiological and economic situation, the company decided – according to the agreement with the Works Council – to pay the workers a bonus in June, as an acknowledgement of the productive common work and successes achieved in 2019.

On the 29th April, Magyar Suzuki Corporation will restart production. While introducing healthcare and safety measures which will be more complex than any other measure before, the company will gradually restore production in one shift at the beginning. The Esztergom plant continuously monitors the market needs and shapes production plan according to this.

Magyar Suzuki will presumably start production on 27 April 2020., in a one-shift work schedule.
– In the present situation of emergency, Magyar Suzuki Corporation does its best to help healthcare workers. After the previous offering of masks and hand sanitizers, this time Vaszary Kolos Hospital in Esztergom was supported with 8 passenger cars, thus helping the work of the employees of the institute. The company handed the vehicles over to the hospital today.
We provide payment of wages to our employees with the application of reorganization of working time, home office, and paid holiday.
In the next two weeks, Magyar Suzuki Zrt. is working on creating safe working conditions in this current situation for the production restart.
It is a major success in the history of Magyar Suzuki Corporation that Suzuki SX4 S-CROSS has won the first prize, while Vitara came in second in the Hungarian Car of the Year competition, organized by the Motorist Great-Coalition and Járműipar.hu in 2020. More than half of Hungarian automobile importers entered the competition some of their cars of importance in 2020. From the 39 entrants, winners were selected in 7 categories, 6 awards were voted by the jury, while one given by the audience.
With regard to the extraordinary situation emerging due to the spread of the coronavirus epidemics, Magyar Suzuki Corporation offered 200 face masks to the Vaszary Kolos Hospital in Esztergom. The aid was handed over by the company to the healthcare institution yesterday, moreover, they plan to support the work of Szent Borbála Hospital in Tatabánya with a further donation.

We have informed labor hire companies that we suspend their services due to the coronavirus epidemic situation. Once production is back to normal, we intend to renew their contracts.
We are counting on members of our hired workforce as soon as production restarts. We are now working on a very favorable returning bonus to offer. In the meantime, Magyar Suzuki Zrt provides accommodation for those who cannot return to their homes due to travel restrictions.
We strive to transfer more and more hired workforce into our company's own safe employment.
We trust the unprecedented situation caused by the pandemic will be soon resolved and we are able to restart production in Esztergom as soon as possible. At this moment, however, our priority lies in the safety of our employees.
Due to the high risk of the coronavirus spread - in order to protect the health and safety of our employees - the management of Magyar Suzuki Zrt. decided to shut down production between 23rd March 2020 and 3rd April 2020 in the Esztergom plant.

An average 12 percent wage increase will be applied by Magyar Suzuki Corporation meanwhile among physical employees the average wage will be increased by 13,4 percent with retroactive effect from 1st January. Suzuki employees will receive the increased amount already from March, moreover, a two-month worth of bonus will also be transferred by the company during this year.
