Joan Mir becomes 2020 MotoGP World Champion - Team SUZUKI ECSTAR achieves First Team Title

Team SUZUKI ECSTAR’s Joan Mir aboard the GSX-RR finished 7th in the MotoGP class of the FIM* Road Racing Grand Prix (MotoGP) 14th round held on 15 November 2020 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Spain. This made his rider’s point 171 to become the 2020 world champion with the final race remaining. This is the first time in 20 years for the Suzuki rider to become a champion since Kenny Roberts Jr. in 2000. Also, with Alex Rins finishing 4th in the race, the team’s point became 309 to win the first team title for the Team SUZUKI ECSTAR, giving double crown for Suzuki.

Magyar Suzuki Passes 3,5 Million Model Production

3.5 million Suzuki models were made in about 30 years to 123 countries at the Esztergom plant of the Japanese subsidiary. The international automotive company has come a long way in Hungary from its 1991’s beginnings to the jubilee reached recently, having been the first company to bring car production back to Hungary after half a century, becoming the 10th largest company in the country for today. The 3.5 millionth car was a hybrid version from the audience-favourite Vitara model. Magyar Suzuki Increased its Revenue by 23% Last Year

The company announced its 2019 business results. - In 2019 Magyar Suzuki sold 194.447 vehicles in 123 countries, with this, the company increased its sales by 13,13 percent compared to the year before. We are doing our utmost to ensure our company will return to normal operation as soon as possible. When that happens, we will count on all of our staff. During this temporary period, uninterrupted payment of wages is guaranteed to every person employed by Magyar Suzuki Zrt. The options for downtime, reorganization of working time, home office, and paid holiday are available to all employees. We have informed labor hire companies that we suspend their services due to the coronavirus epidemic situation. Once production is back to normal, we intend to renew their contracts. We are counting on members of our hired workforce as soon as production restarts. We are now working on a very favorable returning bonus to offer. In the meantime, Magyar Suzuki Zrt provides accommodation for those who cannot return to their homes due to travel restrictions. We strive to transfer more and more hired workforce into our company's own safe employment. We trust the unprecedented situation caused by the pandemic will be soon resolved and we are able to restart production in Esztergom as soon as possible. An average 12 percent wage increase will be applied by Magyar Suzuki Corporation meanwhile among physical employees the average wage will be increased by 13,4 percent with retroactive effect from 1st January.
