On 14 June, Magyar Suzuki employees gathered with their family members and friends to collect rubbish in Esztergom as part of the “Pick it up from the ground, pick it up for the Earth” campaign.
Magyar Suzuki Corporation closed a dynamic financial year in 2024. The Esztergom-based manufacturer achieved 29.3% growth in the overall Hungarian new car market compared to the previous year. Of the 121,607 new passenger cars registered in Hungary, 15,732 were Suzukis, securing a market-leading position with a 12.94% market share.
Suzuki and Hungarian Government signed basic agreement on joint venture for car production 35 years ago. On the 35th anniversary of the signing of a basic agreement between Suzuki and the Hungarian Government on a joint venture for car production, Magyar Suzuki hosted a gala dinner at which the legendary leader Osamu Suzuki, who passed away last year, was solemnly commemorated. The event highlighted the former president-CEO’s unforgettable role in the success story of the Esztergom-based manufacturing company. Toshihiro Suzuki, the current representative director and president of Suzuki Motor Corporation, thanked all those who have helped Magyar Suzuki play a stable role in the Hungarian economy and international car production since 1991 for their cooperation and support.
Magyar Suzuki Corporation has donated 50 chairs and 2 sofas to the Foundation of the Vaszary Kolos Hospital in Esztergom to support the modernisation of patient care departments. The furniture creates a more comfortable and modern environment for both patients and employees.
Magyar Suzuki has donated a white Suzuki Vitara to the University of Pannonia’s University Centre in Zalaegerszeg. This vehicle will further strengthen the students’ education and support their practice-oriented learning.
The Puskás-Suzuki Cup was held in Felcsút at the beginning of May, and our company has been a committed supporter from the very beginning. This year, the prestigious U17 football tournament was won by Juventus, after beating Budapest Honvéd 2–0 in the final.
The Then and Now Vehicle Expo was held for the eighth time in Esztergom on 27-28 April 2025. The Great Danube promenade in the heart of the city again opened up to vehicles and experiences for the family: alongside new and vintage cars, this included delicious snacks, music and interactive games. The success of the event is reflected by the fact that this year it attracted more than 22,000 visitors.
Magyar Suzuki is supporting the work of the Esztergom Police Department with its popular Suzuki Vitara. The company has been helping local law enforcement for more than 10 years.
The Then and Now Vehicle Expo, one of the most popular spring community events in Esztergom and the surrounding area, will be open to the public for the 8th time from 26 to 27 April on the Great Danube Promenade in the heart of the city, at the Esztergom Rugby Club. This multi-day event has become a key feature of spring cultural life in Esztergom, attracting thousands of visitors every year – not just because of the vehicles, but also for the fun, family-friendly programmes and special exhibitions.
Suzuki's Esztergom-made model, the Vitara, has received another prestigious award. For the second time in its history, it has won the Audience Award at the Hungarian Car of the Year 2025 competition.
Magyar Suzuki has donated a Suzuki Vitara to the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) to support vehicle engineering training. The handover ceremony was held at the BME’s Centre of Competence, where the leaders of the university and the company emphasised the importance of industrial cooperation.
The manufacturing launch of the Vitara in 2015 marked a significant turning point in the history of Magyar Suzuki in many respects, as it became the most popular passenger car in Hungary. This was the first model in the company’s history whose prototype was developed with the involvement of Hungarian engineers. Today, the one-millionth Vitara has rolled off the production line — a marble blue, GLX and sunroof equipped version, which will soon reach its new owner in Germany.
At this year’s Companies for the Future Award ceremony of the Joint Venture Association (JVSZ), Magyar Suzuki Zrt. was recognised with the prestigious grand prize in the corporate category.
Dr. Zoltán Varga will continue his career at Magyar Suzuki as the Executive General Manager for HR, Corporate Services, Legal & Compliance Affairs starting February 2025.
Magyar Suzuki began focusing on sustainable driving when it transitioned to manufacturing hybrid models at the end of 2019. Today, the 500,000th hybrid model rolled off the production line at the Esztergom factory – a canyon brown, GLX, AllGrip all-wheel-drive, automatic S-CROSS with sunroof. Market data reveals strong global demand for the hybrid Vitara and S-CROSS models produced in Hungary, and interest remains steady.
Suzuki has once again secured the leading position in the Hungarian new passenger car market, achieving a market share of 12.94 % with 15,732 registered vehicles in 2024. The brand ranked first on the Hungarian sales list thanks primarily to its two models manufactured in Esztergom, the Vitara and the S-CROSS. Last year, in terms of total passenger car sales in Hungary, the Vitara was the best-selling model, and the S-CROSS was the second most popular among Hungarian buyers. The new Swift, on the other hand, finished first in the B-segment small car category.
