Stable operations, market-leading position – Magyar Suzuki reviews the year
In 2025, Magyar Suzuki once again maintained its leading position on the Hungarian new passenger car market: with 14,285 registered vehicles and an 11.04 percent market share, the company finished in first place for the 22nd time. Including imported models, the company sold a total of 109,994 vehicles worldwide, while 108,072 passenger cars rolled off the production line in Hungary. The company’s net sales revenue amounted to EUR 2.059 billion.
In 2025, the automotive industry continued to be shaped by significant external factors, including geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainty and the ongoing industry transformation. These factors also affected Magyar Suzuki’s operations, particularly in terms of maintaining cost efficiency and competitiveness. At the same time, the company responded to these challenges with flexible operations and coordinated teamwork, thereby ensuring stable production processes and a continuous market presence throughout the year.
88 percent of production exported
In 2025, Magyar Suzuki Corporation generated total net sales revenue of EUR 2.059 billion, which was down more than 8 percent compared to the previous year. Revenue from domestic sales reached EUR 285,5 million, while export sales accounted for EUR 1.773,8 billion (86 percent of total revenue).
To stay competitive, the company also implemented a plant development programme last year worth more than HUF 9 billion. The investment supported efficiency improvements, digitalisation and preparations for carbon-neutral operations, affecting all production units.
Balanced production
A total of 108,072 vehicles rolled off the production line at the Esztergom plant in 2025. Thanks to balanced production, the company reached several important manufacturing milestones in 2025. The 500,000th hybrid model rolled off the production line, and the one-millionth Vitara was completed.
Popular Esztergom models remain at the top
In 2025, the company sold a total of 109,994 passenger cars in more than one hundred countries. Approximately 88 percent of the models manufactured in Esztergom were exported. The best-selling model was the Vitara.
In the domestic new car market, Magyar Suzuki once again finished in first place with 14,285 registered vehicles and an 11.04 percent market share. Since the launch of mass production in 1992, this marks the company’s 22nd time as market leader in Hungary. The models manufactured in Esztergom once again played a decisive role in this domestic success in 2025. Based on Hungarian registration figures last year, most customers chose the S-CROSS (6,500 units), while the Vitara ranked as the third most popular model (5,590 units). The figures show that the Esztergom-built models continue to command a strong position in the Hungarian market.
Strong year for outboard engines and motorcycles
In addition to automobile manufacturing, Magyar Suzuki Corporation is also a key player in the outboard engine and motorcycle sectors in Hungary and the wider region. The company’s Marine division has been distributing outboard engines, spare parts and boating accessories on the Hungarian market since 1999. Suzuki is known as a specialist in four-stroke outboard engines, and its nationwide network currently consists of nine sales points. Since 2017, the company has also acted as a regional distributor, selling Suzuki outboard engines through partners in 12 additional countries besides Hungary. Last year, the company sold a total of 495 outboard engines on the Hungarian market, maintaining its market-leading position*, while 1,891 outboard engines were sold on export markets.
Magyar Suzuki is also active in motorcycle distribution, supplying a total of 14 markets including Hungary. In 2025, some 231 Suzuki motorcycles were registered on the Hungarian market, representing a 3.14 percent market share. A total of 1,553 motorcycles were sold on export markets.
Focus on knowledge and workforce development
Magyar Suzuki is not just a major market player; it has also been a stable employer in the Komárom-Esztergom region and nationwide for 35 years. In line with the transformation of the automotive industry – especially in the fields of digitalisation and new technologies – the company has also placed strong emphasis on training professionals of the future.
The company established the Suzuki Academy, an umbrella programme designed to facilitate knowledge sharing within the company and group, respond to labour market challenges, and build bridges between generations and cultures. The initiative includes the Maintenance Academy, the Talent Management Programme and the Leadership Academy. The dual education programme launched in 2023 continues to be successful as well: in the current academic year, 31 students are studying at the Suzuki Education Centre, and half of the graduates who have completed the programme so far have joined Magyar Suzuki.
Outlook: adaptation and stability
This year, Magyar Suzuki celebrates the 35th anniversary of its foundation and the establishment of the factory. Since 1991, the company has been a defining player in the Hungarian automotive industry, and the Esztergom plant is the Suzuki Group’s most important and only European production centre. Over the past three and a half decades, the company has become one of the pillars of Hungarian vehicle manufacturing, while continuously adapting to industry changes. Over the years, the Esztergom manufacturing facility has accumulated a high level of expertise and know-how, particularly in engineering, logistics and IT. Magyar Suzuki provides IT services and developments as well as the Suzuki Connect service introduced in autumn 2022 for the whole of Europe. European legal and compliance operations are also coordinated from Hungary.
In 2026, the company will continue to focus on maintaining stable operations, staying competitive and strengthening market adaptability. Magyar Suzuki’s goal has not changed: be a reliable employer and market leader both in Hungary and around the world.
