Real-Madrid wins the 18th Puskás–Suzuki Cup
At the beginning of May, one of the most prestigious European youth tournaments, the Puskás-Suzuki Cup, was organised for the 18th time with eight teams participating. The Real-Madrid U17 won the football tournament.
In the years since its launch in 2008, the youth tournament has grown into one of the most prestigious international football tournaments, attended by prestigious foreign clubs in addition to the host – Puskás Academy in Felcsút – and Budapest Honvéd. The history and successes of the invited foreign teams are connected to the past of the legendary footballer, Ferenc Puskás, in several ways. Besides the Puskás Academy, Budapest Honvéd, Real Madrid, Panathinaikos of Greece, Juventus of Italy, Genk of Belgium, Sporting of Portugal and Slavia Prague of the Czech Republic took part in the tournament.
This year’s matches produced some fierce battles again, and the teams were worthy adversaries.
In the end, Real-Madrid won the cup.
