New Managing Director as head of Magyar Suzuki Corporation

A new Managing Director will take over Magyar Suzuki Corporation, Masato Atsumi replaces Yoshinobu Abe on 1 May, who will continue his career in the Global Automobile Marketing Division of Suzuki Motor Corporation.

Masato Atsumi, an economist from Nagoya University in Japan, joined the Suzuki Group in 1987 as a recent graduate. His connection with the old continent began in 2012. As the President of Suzuki International Europe GmbH., he managed the Group’s entire operations in Germany and served as a Managing Director of the motorcycle and marine divisions in Austria and Finland, as well as in Germany. Then from 2018, he acted as General Manager of the Japanese parent company in charge of Human Resources. Prior to his appointment in Hungary, the 57-year-old leader was responsible for European Automobile Sales.

“In line with the international climate protection and sustainability goals of the automotive industry, Suzuki Motor Corporation is focusing globally on greener manufacturing and vehicle use. Based on the guidelines of our parent company, in the following years we would also like to follow the path we have already started in Hungary. Even after the introduction of hybrid vehicles in 2019, Magyar Suzuki aims to produce such models in Esztergom that make environmentally conscious driving accessible to as many people as possible,” - says Masato Atsumi about the company’s future.
