Magyar Suzuki receives award
On Traffic Culture Day, Magyar Suzuki received an award for its work on improving road traffic safety and transport culture. The Esztergom-based car manufacturer received the recognition for its “Together on the Roads” campaign.
The “Values of Our Transport Culture 2026” competition was launched by the National Accident Prevention Committee of the Hungarian National Police Headquarters (ORFK-OBB), the Road Safety Unit of the Scientific Association for Transport, and the HRSP (Partnership for Road Safety Association). The competition aimed to recognise best practices and initiatives that help to improve road safety and transport culture through corporate social responsibility activities. Local governments, companies, businesses, non-profit organisations and foundations were all eligible to apply. One of the key criteria was that applicants should demonstrate a significant impact through their activities. In 2026, Magyar Suzuki received the award for “Exemplary Road Safety CSR Company of the Year” for its “Together on the Roads” awareness and education campaign.
The nationwide programme was launched in 2022 with the aim of improving transport culture in Hungary.
“We launched our Together on the Roads traffic safety campaign in 2022 to support the development of transport culture in Hungary. We endeavour to raise awareness about broad social issues where change is needed to improve road safety. At the same time, we strive to approach these topics from the perspective of all road users, and to highlight good practices,” said Zsuzsanna Bonnár-Csonka, Head of Communications at Magyar Suzuki.
The programme has already addressed topics such as aggression on the roads, giving way to emergency vehicles using warning signals, attitudes towards beginner and inexperienced drivers, as well as the importance of first aid. Each year, Magyar Suzuki works together with competent authorities, official organisations, transport specialists and traffic psychologists on the programme. Education and raising awareness play a particularly important role in the campaign’s communication activities.
