Magyar Suzuki Is Still Leading The Market

Based on sales of the first 11 months of the year, with its 11.33 percent market share and 13 064 new passenger cars registered, Magyar Suzuki Corporation is still the definite leader of new car sales in Hungary one month before the end of 2020. Mainly due to the popularity of the Vitara and the SX4 S-CROSS models that are also available in hybrid versions now, the brand has been on the top of Hungary’s new car sales list for four years now.

Suzuki has the first place in November and in overall annual sales
In November 2020, 2276 new Suzuki cars were registered, which is almost twice the amount of registered cars sold by the brand which is second in line. With these numbers, Magyar Suzuki has reached a more than 17 percentage market share and secured the first place for new passenger car registrations in the first 11 months of the year, according to the annual figures.

The Vitara, manufactured in Esztergom, remains a crowd favourite among new car buyers in Hungary, with 6178 cars registered between 1 January and 30 November 2020. The Suzuki SX4 S-CROSS, also manufactured in Hungary, is on the second place on the TOP 3 sales list, regarding the whole domestic passenger car market. This most popular new car of the mid- to low-end product segment had almost 5000 registrations by the end of November in Hungary.

New models with alternative drive systems enrich the product range
In accordance with Suzuki Group’s efforts concerning sustainable car making, Magyar Suzuki has started the serial production of hybrid vehicles in Esztergom in December 2019. Since January 2020, the company has been selling hybrid cars for the EU market. As a result, hybrid vehicles made up 65 percent of this year’s production volume.

Two new import models are also becoming available for purchase in Europe. The pre-sales of the Across SUV – that can also be charged from an electric network – has launched in the first half of November, while sales of Swace models equipped with hybrid system, are expected to begin next January. Out of other Suzuki models that are not manufactured in Esztergom but are available in Hungary, more than 1200 Swifts and almost 600 Ignises were registered by the end of November this year.

Hybrid cars are in on well-known quality
“Thanks to the Hybrid Pro 3+7 year warranty covering the engine, the transmission, the turbo unit and the hybrid elements, combined with our country-wide service network and of course the well-known quality of the brand, new car buyers received Suzuki’s alternative drive system models well. Judging by the numbers of the first 11 months of the year, we are optimistic about the end of 2020 as well,” said Róbert Krisztián, Executive General Manager at Magyar Suzuki Corporation.
