Luxury carriages and World War II combat vehicles will also be on exhibit at the Then and Now Expo

For all ages and the whole family, the Then and Now Vehicle Expo is a great way to recreation, with two- and four-wheelers of the past and present, as well as model planes, bicycles, dance performances and concerts. The country's largest thematic exhibition will be held for the sixth time this year on 29-30 April at the Great Danube Promenade in Esztergom. The two-day program will end with a spectacular lantern boat parade.

This year cannot pass without one of the biggest community events in Esztergom! Every year the Expo attracts thousands of visitors to the banks of the Danube, where this year the public can admire horse-drawn carriages, landaus, vintage motorcycles, as well as cars of the past and present. In addition to the S-CROSS and Vitara models produced in Esztergom by the host and main sponsor Magyar Suzuki, the motorcycle and marine engine business will also be represented.

The oldest vehicle will be a Ford T-model from the 1920s, which is still in working condition, and the most special piece will be a Hungarian-made Csaba armored car, which was used by the Royal Hungarian Army as a reconnaissance and liaison vehicle in World War II. Among the other four-wheeled vehicles, the oldest model will be a Landauer carriage, which was mainly used in the 18th and 19th centuries. This elegant, luxurious vehicle was capable of travelling long distances, and its interior design reflected the wealth of its owner, depending on the material used for its upholstery.

This year, aircraft models will be added to the exhibition: There will be a Katana 540 (1100KW, 1200mm wingspan and length), an L3A Leo (15 cm3 internal combustion engine, 1880mm wingspan and length), a Gullwing (1200mm wingspan) and a Cesna Hydroplan model (1200mm wingspan 1050kw engine).

The vehicle exhibition is accompanied by dance performances, children can try the Tóbiás and Balambér traffic track, while older children can test their physical skills in a skill exercise. The family festival will also feature performances by Zsolt Hauber X Bonanza Banzai, PASO and Peter Sramek, among others.

The exhibition is open free of charge on Saturday 29.04 and Sunday 30.04 between 10:00-20:00.

This year again, the Then and Now Expo will end with a spectacular evening lantern boat parade on the Little Danube between the St Elisabeth Bridge and the Kossuth Bridge. Each year, the co-event inspires more and more people, turning the Danube into a huge, carnival-like, unique boat cavalcade. DJ Dominique will entertain the audience from the terrace in front of the Esztergom Music School.
