12 percent wage increase on average at Magyar Suzuki Corporation

A 12 percent wage increase will be applied on average by the company at its Esztergom plant retroactively, back to January, following consultations with the Works Council. Over the past five years Magyar Suzuki Corporation has increased the base salary of physical workers by 78 percent and office workers by 52 percent. Wages of office workers will increase by an average of 9 percent, those of manual workers by 12 percent, and starting salary of operators by 14 percent in 2022. The company also provided a 13-month year-end bonus and compensates them for the five national holidays that fall on weekends with rest days. Magyar Suzuki Corporation closed its working hours frame at the end of last year, releasing an average of 15 previously paid working days to its physical workers.

Magyar Suzuki Corporation pays great attention to properly compensate the efforts of its employees. As a result of the consultation among the management and the Works Council a 12 percent wage increase will be applied on average in the circle of physical employees, regardless of performance, and a 9 percent increase will be applied to office workers. The newly defined 12 percent retroactive increase will be transferred to the workers of the company already in March. In addition to the shift allowance, Magyar Suzuki Corporation is introducing a new allowance system in the form of performance-based productivity premium, as well as a 13-month year-bonus payment in December for its entire workforce.

Also, in consultation with the Works Council, the management of Magyar Suzuki Corporation closed the working hours frame on 31 December 2021. Last year, the production took place in one shift in the Esztergom plant for about a four-month period due to the lack of semiconductors. During this period, all employees involved received payment for two shifts. The employer waived the replacement of working days not completed by the end of the working hours frame, thus allowing an average of 15 previously paid working days to physical workers. The new working time frame will run from 1 January 2022 to 31 May 2023.
