Suzuki: Market leader in the motorcycle segment

In 2007, in Hungary, 18,268 bike fans became proud owners of new motorbikes; 3,654 motorcycles were Suzukis. This represents a market share of over 20% and a market leader position. The overwhelming majority of Suzuki bikes (3,511) were in the over 125 category.

The GS 500 led the ranking for the models selling 304 units, followed by sales of a Supersport motorbike - the GSX-R 1000 model - with 234 sales. The hits of 2007 were the choppers: from the new top model – which is the VZR 1800 and the Suzuki model with the highest displacement – 204 units were sold.

Among the new models from 2008, Suzuki's two Supersport motorbike road bikes are generating a great deal of interest: the GSX R600 and 750 twin models. According to official data, it is characterised by 125 and 156 HP performance and a dry weight of around 163kg, which is an excellent weight/performance trade-off. Besides this, it stands out among competitors, because of a string of technical innovations: redesigned, lightweight, easy-to-handle frame and wishbone, back torque limiter and titanium valves - all packaged in special designs.

Perhaps the arrival of the GSX 1300 BK type or B-King is surrounded by the greatest expectations in 2008. This top of the range naked-bike with its unique palate of designs is easy to handle, a great ride, and creates a whole new category. In 2008, Suzuki once again launched an exceptional cruiser onto the market, with the appearance of the C1800 type. Its outstanding displacement, the corresponding power and torque, and the unique, classical design places this motorcycle in the centre of attention.

This new and exciting range of models continues with the GSX 650F model, also called, The Full Faired Bandit, which further contributes to the popularity of the Bandit models with some sensational fairing.

In terms of innovation in the off-road category, in 2008, Suzuki launched a complete upgrade of the RM-Z 450. Technology from the GSX-R series makes its presence felt here too: the technology integrated into the top bikes adapted for the rough tumble of motocross. All this has been mounted onto a light frame, which makes the bike easy-to-handle and is excellent ergonomically. Of course, just as you would expect by appearance of a real competition bike, it is aggressive and powerful.
