In 2008 Magyar Suzuki Corporation sold 282,024 cars altogether from its own production, out of which 22,341 were sold on the domestic market. 8,773 Swift, 7,087 SX4, 5,912 Splash, 569 Ignis and 1,580 other imported models were sold to Hungarian market. With these results we managed to retain our leading position on the shrinking Hungarian car market. Suzuki’s market share in 2008 was about 16.2 % in Hungary.
Our export ratio exceeds 92% and we saw a growth of 28% y/y by selling 259,683 cars from our own production.
In 2008, net sales revenues exceeded HUF 609.4 billion, with domestic sales of HUF 87.524 billion and export and EU sales over HUF 521.890 billion.
Suzuki’s European Renaissance Program started in 2003, with the objective to re-shape and renew the entire product portfolio according to the perceived needs and demands of the European market. As a result of this program, the production capacity of Magyar Suzuki Corporation was set as 300,000 units in 2008. We are determined to continue our investment and HUF 50.5 billion was planned in 2009.
The planned net sales revenue for 2009 is HUF 451.1 billion. To meet our targets, the company calculates with an average staff number of 4,200 in 2009.
