Suzuki at the 80th Geneva Motor Show
At this year’s International Motor Show in Geneva*, at stand number 4251, in hall 4, Suzuki Motor Corporation will unveil its latest achievements. Visitors will have the chance to catch a glimpse of the Japanese marque’s big steps towards a greener, cleaner future and other innovations.
Swift Plug-in hybrid: 54kW motor powered by lithium-ion batteries
After proving its expertise in hybrid technology by introducing the Swift Plug-in hybrid car at the latest Tokyo Motor Show, Suzuki will showcase it for the first time in Europe: the Plug-in hybrid version of the Swift marking a new chapter in the automaker’s success story. The Swift Plug-in hybrid pairs a 54kW motor powered by lithium-ion batteries and a 660cc engine that recharges the batteries in case they run low while driving. This is a break from the hybrid norm as the Swift relies primarily on its electric motor to travel short distances up to 20 km. This advanced technology represents another major step forward for Suzuki and its efforts for environmental motoring.
Kizashi: Top-class exclusiveness
Taking a leap forward into the D-segment, Suzuki will showcase the all–new Kizashi for the first time in Europe: Kizashi, the new flagship in the passenger-car line-up, which will be available in Switzerland this year. The completely new type of sports sedan features the intelligent four-wheel drive i-AWD as standard. Its power comes from a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine that combines potent performance (131 kW and a maximum torque of 230 N・m). Its CVT has a completely new control system resulting in great-feeling performance.
Kizashi definitely lives up to its name – “a sign of great things to come”.
Grand Vitara: More urban style
Also at this spring’s Geneva Motor Show a new variant of the Grand Vitara 3- and 5-door version will have its premiere. Coming without spare tyre at the tailgate, the urban cross-country vehicle will present itself in an even more stylish shape making it more suitable for city driving. Nevertheless, the newly designed rear gate still underlines the original lifestyle SUV’s inherent 4x4 capability and well-proportioned body of the Grand Vitara.
*The Geneva International Motor Show 2010 will be open to the public from 4th – 14th March. Press days are scheduled on 2nd and 3rd March.
